Transaction Count, Active Addresses and Fees Paid (in USD): per UTC day for Polygon PoS from growthepie, licensed CC BY 4.0 (full history from May 30, 2020 for subscribers); latest complete day Oct 7, 2026, 5.22M transactions. Block time and transactions per second: the time between the first and last of the latest 30 blocks from a public Polygon RPC (30 blocks over 43 seconds); base fee: the latest of those blocks, in gwei of POL. Latest block 95,198,682. USDC and USDT0 issued: each token's total supply read from its contract on Polygon PoS (Circle and USDT0). Decentralized finance figures are not shown yet.

POL is the native token of Polygon PoS. It pays transaction fees on the network and is staked to the validators that secure it. POL is issued as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, where its total supply is recorded, and it replaced MATIC through a migration that began in September 2024. Validators and the people who delegate to them stake POL in the StakeManager contract on Ethereum.

POL total supply: totalSupply() of the POL token contract on Ethereum. POL staked: the total stake of the current validator set from the Polygon PoS StakeManager contract on Ethereum. Both every 30 minutes, recorded daily from Oct 1, 2026.

Polygon PoS is secured by validators that stake POL on Ethereum; anyone can delegate POL to a validator. Bor, the execution client, produces blocks, and validators running Heimdall, the consensus client, agree checkpoints of the chain that are submitted to Ethereum. Protocol changes are proposed in public as Polygon Improvement Proposals and shipped in client releases.

Validators: the size of the current validator set from the Polygon PoS StakeManager contract on Ethereum, every 30 minutes. Client releases: the latest published release of Bor (0xPolygon/bor) and Heimdall v2 (0xPolygon/heimdall-v2) on GitHub, every six hours, dated by GitHub's published date and linked to its release notes. Protocol changes are proposed as Polygon Improvement Proposals (0xPolygon/Polygon-Improvement-Proposals) (opens in a new tab).

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this page cover?

Public data about Polygon PoS: daily transactions, active addresses and fees, block time and throughput, POL supply and staking, validators, node software releases, stablecoins, the POL market price and market data, events, and the ecosystem.

What is Polygon?

Polygon PoS is a public proof-of-stake blockchain compatible with Ethereum. Its native token, POL, pays transaction fees and is staked to the validators that run the network. Polygon Labs develops the network's software. POL replaced MATIC as the network's token through a migration that began in September 2024.

Why are supply and staking read on Ethereum?

The POL token contract and the staking contracts of Polygon PoS live on Ethereum. The total supply of POL is read from the POL token contract, and the stake and the number of validators from the StakeManager contract, both on Ethereum mainnet.

How is the network secured?

Validators stake POL in the StakeManager contract on Ethereum, and anyone can delegate POL to a validator. Blocks are produced by Bor, the execution client, and checkpoints of the chain are agreed by validators running Heimdall, the consensus client, and submitted to Ethereum.

How often is the data updated?

Block time, throughput and base fee refresh every minute while the page is open. Supply, staking, validators and stablecoins refresh every 30 minutes; client releases every six hours. Daily statistics are added once each UTC day has closed. All dates and times are in UTC.

Where does the data come from?

From public Polygon PoS nodes (blocks, block time, throughput, base fee and the USDC and USDT0 token contracts), public Ethereum nodes (the POL token and StakeManager contracts), growthepie (daily Transaction Count, Active Addresses and fees paid, CC BY 4.0) and GitHub (Bor and Heimdall v2 releases). The notes under each section name the sources and define each figure.

What is free, and what is for subscribers?

Live figures, price charts and the last quarter (92 days) of chart history are free on every network page. Reports, the report archive, downloads and full chart history are for subscribers. Subscriptions open once our licensed data sources are in place; plans are on the pricing page.

How do I subscribe or unsubscribe?

Report subscriptions open soon, once our licensed data sources are in place; plans are on the pricing page. Existing subscribers can unsubscribe or change their choices from the link in any Genfinity email.

Data Sources & Limitations
Figures come from third-party and on-chain sources and are provided without warranty of accuracy or completeness. Sources can be delayed, interrupted or revised; when a source is unavailable, the last available value is shown. Network figures are read from public Polygon PoS and Ethereum nodes (POL total supply and staking from the POL token and StakeManager contracts on Ethereum); daily transaction, address and fee history is from growthepie under CC BY 4.0. POL staked is the total stake of the active validator set. Figures reflect the sources at the time they were read and may be revised. Figures are unaudited. All times are UTC.
