Transactions, operations and fees: summed per UTC day over every ledger that closed that day, read from the Stellar Development Foundation's public Horizon server, which keeps a rolling window of about the last 14 months of ledgers; daily history starts with the oldest day it held when collection began (mid-August 2025) and is kept from then on; latest complete day Oct 7, 2026, 4.16M transactions. Transactions are successful transactions; operations are the operations inside them (one transaction can carry up to 100). Fees: every fee charged goes to the network's fee pool and none is paid out, so fees per day are the fee pool's change over the day, in XLM. Ledger close time: the average time between the latest 200 ledgers. Ledger capacity used: the latest ledger's share of its operation limit (Horizon fee statistics). Stablecoins: the amount of each coin issued on Stellar by its official issuer (Circle for USDC and EURC, Paxos for PYUSD, Tether for USDT0, its omnichain USDT), held in accounts, smart contracts, liquidity pools and claimable balances; look-alike assets under the same codes are not counted. Decentralized finance figures are not shown yet.
Lumens (XLM) are Stellar's native asset. 100 billion were created when the network launched in 2014, and a yearly inflation of 1% added more until validators voted to end it in 2019. In the same year the Stellar Development Foundation burned 55 billion of its own lumens. No lumens are created any more, and the network has no staking or block rewards.

All figures are the Stellar Development Foundation's, from its lumen supply API (updated Oct 8, 2026), and are checked on every read: total supply equals the original supply (100.00B XLM) plus inflation lumens (5.44B XLM) less burned lumens; circulating supply equals total supply less the SDF mandate, the upgrade reserve and the fee pool; and the original supply plus inflation lumens equals the lumens the ledger itself records. The ledger's own total still includes the burned lumens, so it is not shown as total supply. The upgrade reserve is held for future protocol upgrades. Updated every 15 minutes.
Stellar reaches agreement with the Stellar Consensus Protocol. There is no staking: each validator names the organizations it trusts, and the network stays in agreement as long as those choices overlap. Protocol changes are proposed in public as Core Advancement Proposals, released in stellar-core, and take effect when validators vote to upgrade the protocol version.

Validators and organizations: read from the network's own consensus record, the SCP history that the Stellar Development Foundation's validators publish to their history archive, every 30 minutes (about 64 ledgers per read). Top-tier validators: every validator reachable from the quorum sets of the validators taking part in consensus, which the rest of the network relies on; signing counts those with a consensus message in the latest ledger read. Validators outside the top tier are not counted. Organizations: each validator's key is checked against the stellar.toml file of the domain its account names (SEP-20); a key that fails the check is shown as an unverified validator. Minimum blocking set: the fewest organizations whose validators, if they all stopped, would leave the other top-tier validators without a quorum, computed by Genfinity from the published quorum sets. Protocol version: the Stellar Development Foundation's public Horizon server. stellar-core releases: the ten most recent general releases published on GitHub (stellar/stellar-core), highest version first, each dated by GitHub's published date and linked to its release notes. Protocol changes are proposed as Core Advancement Proposals (stellar/stellar-protocol) (opens in a new tab).

genfinity.ioFrequently Asked Questions
What does this page cover?
Public data about Stellar: the lumen (XLM) supply, network activity and fees, stablecoins issued on Stellar, validators and the organizations that run them, protocol upgrades and stellar-core releases, and the ecosystem.
What are lumens, stroops and ledgers?
Lumens (XLM) are Stellar's native asset; one lumen is 10,000,000 stroops, the smallest unit. Stellar records transactions in ledgers rather than blocks: a new ledger closes about every five seconds, and each transaction can carry up to 100 operations, such as a payment or a trade.
Does Stellar have staking?
No. Stellar uses the Stellar Consensus Protocol, in which each validator chooses which organizations it trusts instead of weighting votes by stake, and there are no block rewards. The Governance section shows how many organizations run validators and how few would need to fail to halt the network.
Why is total supply about 50 billion XLM when 100 billion were created?
100 billion lumens were created at launch and inflation added about 5.4 billion more until it ended in 2019. In the same year the Stellar Development Foundation burned about 55.4 billion of its own lumens. Total supply on this page is the Foundation's figure after the burn; the ledger's own count still includes the burned lumens, so it is not shown as total supply.
What is the SDF mandate?
Lumens the Stellar Development Foundation holds to carry out its mandate to support the network. They are not counted in circulating supply, together with the upgrade reserve and the fee pool, where every transaction fee goes.
How often is the data updated?
Ledger figures refresh every minute while the page is open. Supply refreshes every 15 minutes; stablecoins and validators every 30 minutes; stellar-core releases every six hours. Daily statistics are added once each UTC day has closed. All dates and times are in UTC.
Where does the data come from?
From public sources: the Stellar network itself through the Stellar Development Foundation's public Horizon server (ledgers, transactions, fees, stablecoins), the Foundation's lumen supply figures, the consensus record its validators publish to their history archive (validators, with organizations matched through their own stellar.toml files) and GitHub (stellar-core releases). The notes under each section name the sources and define each figure.
What is free, and what is for subscribers?
Live figures, price charts and the last quarter (92 days) of chart history are free on every network page. Reports, the report archive, downloads and full chart history are for subscribers. Subscriptions open once our licensed data sources are in place; plans are on the pricing page.
How do I subscribe or unsubscribe?

- Data Sources & Limitations
- Figures come from third-party and on-chain sources and are provided without warranty of accuracy or completeness. Sources can be delayed, interrupted or revised; when a source is unavailable, the last available value is shown. Ledger, transaction, operation and fee figures are read from the Stellar Development Foundation's public Horizon server, which keeps a rolling window of about the last 14 months of ledgers; daily history starts with the oldest day it held when collection began (mid-August 2025), and days already stored are kept. Supply figures are the Stellar Development Foundation's own (its lumen supply API). Validator figures are read from the consensus record the Stellar Development Foundation's validators publish to their history archive and cover the top tier only; organizations are matched to validators through their own stellar.toml files. Stablecoin figures count only the assets of each coin's official issuer. Figures are unaudited. All times are UTC.
